Cycling across Europe in 2021

25/8 Cycled from Manosque to Barles, 15km south of Seyne.  I sometimes don't use strava as gps drains battery power fast and I am sometimes camping in remote areas without electricity or access is limited at camp site. 26/8  Cycled Barles to Barcellonette and then to foot of col de vars but turned right to climb col de larche. 100km Rockfall on col de larche and over officious policing. The police took names of both I and an Italian cyclist as we rode regardless of rockfall. Police asked us both to return to the bottom of the mountain but we refused. I said I would camp where they stopped us as I would be too late at airbnb check in. I even asked the police to drive us to top.  I was v lucky to get a drive to top from the Italian cyclist man with me. His wife  drove over the mountain to meet us and drove us both to the summit where Italy and France meet. I  then rode 40km down a v twisty fast road to Demonte to airbnb  Showers? Shower system in the wild cam...

Short and downhill. Rain today was first since early in ride approx July 10th in north pennines Route to Italy taking time to plan. Am still studying it

Lot of climbing. Very long 1 hr effort in sun climbing. Always stock up with food earlier in day if unsure if destination town has any shops open after 5.00pm. It was beautiful scenery today in provence

Great cycling networks accomodation. Hot relaxing pedal after will camping previous night. 3rd wild in week. Tomorrow airbnb

21/8 Caveirac to Castillon du Gard 50km So v hot and sight seeing at the aqueduct and rest under a tree all afternoon. Camping independently tonight. Have cycling network accomodation tomorrow. Today is day 27 pedaling. Aim is ride tje alps into Italy and ride south but logistic mote tricky crossing borders so September's route will be clearer aftet compare croatia with Greece  http://www.romanaqueducts.info/aquasite/nimes/

20/8-Aniane to Nimes 80km approx Hill at start then steady and not too hilly but serious heat. Blue sky. Staying at cycling network accomodation again.

Today super hot 30 mile pedal. Tonight camping at a cycling network place where tourists on bikes share. share. 

Strava logged out early in ride. Today was 5hrs or about 80km. Very interesting camping now. The situation in 2021 makes being independent necessary. Now between Bezier and Montpellier  . Day 26 cycling in EU. UK passport post brexit is 90 in 180 inside EU/schengen. Been living csmping outdoors for 5 weeks of 6 now. Aim is south Italy and then ponder boat to Greece or fly elsewhere before 90 days from back to back visa free is used up by mid october. Phone charge is tricky in remote areas so may be offline crossing south France in the next week Night sky tonight will be crystal clear as eyes adjust to darkness and no light from other sources mean night vision becomes v good an hour into night sky

Very strong headwind all the way and quite tricky cross winds the final 8km...stayed in middle of road as wind from left was so strong you could be forced off road to right ditch hence sat in middle of road to give self space to my right to correct my line in gusts from left. Got campsite €15.35. Tomorrow aim is fa. Farm confirmed stay. Will aim to use rural farms. The commercial touristy campsites get quite busy. Farms less so as no pool or entertainment facilities.

66370 Pézilla-la-Rivière, France 60km approx

 Started at olot town at base of pyrenees and climbed Col d'ares. 25 mile up from Olot and descent for an hour off summt...got campsite at Ares El Tech

Short but steep.Now close to France. Spent 10th-11th August studying France.
